Amity Patna MBA & BBA 2026: Fees, Placements & Reviews
Devendra Khati
8 October 2026

The MBA runs 2 years and needs graduation and 10+2 at 50% each. The BBA runs 3 years and needs 10+2 at 50%. The 2025 placement list shows 53 MBA entries across 27 employers and 33 BBA entries across 5 employers. Students praise the faculty and the fests, disagree about the hostels, and several describe the campus as small. If you want a recognised private business degree in Patna and can live with a compact campus, the university is worth a visit.
Who it suits and who should look elsewhere
It suits you if you live in or near Patna, want a private-university business degree without moving cities, and care about campus life as well as classes. Student reviews mention the fests and cultural events more warmly than almost anything else. It also suits you if you want a degree with a built-in internship and a dissertation: both programmes have a summer internship (semester 3 for the MBA, semester 5 for the BBA) and a final dissertation.
Look harder before committing if any of these apply:
- You want a hostel on campus. Reviewers describe private hostels arranged by the university, with mixed opinions on cost and food.
- You want a large campus. Several reviewers call this one small, and the university describes it as an interim campus on leased premises.
- You need a confirmed NAAC grade. The university’s own NIRF filing answers “No” to holding a valid accreditation (details below).
- You want a published placement percentage and package for your programme. The university publishes a list of placed students, with no salaries or batch sizes.

The “Selection Process” box is empty on both course pages, so the university does not say there whether admission depends on marks, a test or an interview. One MBA student on CollegeSearch said they gave an entrance exam and then an interview, but that review is from 2021, so confirm it with the admission office.
The course pages name the university “Amity University Bihar”, while the About page calls it Amity University Patna. They are the same Patna campus.
One more thing to check before you read any review: Careers360 lists Amity Global Business School Patna as a separate institution with its own programmes (GDBA+BBA and PGPM+MBA). Some review pages mix the two, so make sure a review is about Amity University Patna.
What students say
We read reviews of Amity University Patna on Careers360, Collegedunia, CollegeDekho, Shiksha, CollegeBatch, CollegeSearch, Formfees and Justdial. We found no substantial Reddit or Quora thread about this campus. Most reviews date from 2021 to 2024, many cover law or B.Tech rather than management, and review sites collect more strong opinions than average ones. Read what follows as patterns, not verdicts.
Faculty gets the most consistent praise
Every scored site rates faculty at or near the top of its categories. CollegeDekho’s 49 reviews average 4.4 out of 5 for faculty, Shiksha shows 4.3 for faculty and course, CollegeSearch shows 4 and Collegedunia’s 53 reviews show 3.9. A BBA graduate from 2020 on CollegeBatch says the faculty are among the best and that the campus is free of ragging. Reviewers mention teachers who share their own work experience and give notes and slides.
Confidence: high. The pattern shows up on five sites, though the reviews are self-selected.
Fests and campus life
Collegedunia reviewers rate social life 4.0 out of 5 and say the fests and cultural events are better than at other private colleges in Patna. A Careers360 review is titled “Amity is a perfect mix of learning and fun”. The university’s own homepage lists Techphilia 9.0, the Amity Film Festival 2026 and the AARAMBH freshers’ welcome.
Confidence: medium to high.
The campus is small
One Collegedunia reviewer writes that the campus “is very small”. A Formfees reviewer calls the infrastructure modest next to other Amity campuses. A Justdial review mentions small classrooms and a struggle to find a seat as numbers grow, and a Collegedunia reviewer mentions congested parking. A few Careers360 reviewers call it a big campus with good infrastructure, and the university lists 100 Mbps Wi-Fi, AC classrooms, computer labs, a library with digital access and a language lab.
This fits what the About page says: the university works from an interim campus on leased premises at Rupaspur, Bailey Road.
Confidence: medium to high. Ask for a campus visit and sit in a classroom.
Hostels: the opinion is split
This is the topic where reviews disagree most. A Formfees reviewer from the BBA says there are no dorms, only agreements with private hostels, and rates the meals poorly. Collegedunia’s summary says the hostels are outside the campus. A Justdial review says hostel fees are high and the conditions poor, and recommends renting a room nearby. On Shiksha one reviewer calls the hostel “average”, and on CollegeBatch a reviewer scores it 4 out of 10 and calls it strict.
Other reviewers are happier. CollegeDekho reviewers describe separate boys’ and girls’ hostels with large, clean rooms and rate hostels 4.2 out of 5, and a Shiksha reviewer calls the hostel spacious and clean. Accommodation is the lowest-scoring category on Collegedunia (3.6 out of 5) and ties for lowest on CollegeSearch (3 out of 5).
Confidence: high that opinions differ, so visit and ask for the actual fee, distance and food arrangements.
Placements: positive for management, mixed for others
Management and BBA reviewers mostly describe a helpful placement cell that invites companies. B.Tech and law reviewers are less happy: a CollegeBatch B.Tech graduate from 2024 writes that “placements can be improved”, and another reviewer says only a few law students get placed.
Some reviews also repeat claims the official data does not support, such as “100% placements” and highest packages ranging from ₹9 lakh to ₹42 lakh depending on the site. The placements section below sets these against the university’s own filing.
Confidence: medium. Placement experience varies by programme and by year, and these reviews rarely name either.
Why people MBA or BBA from Amity University Patna
An MBA student on CollegeSearch writes that “we all know the Legacy of Amity University”, and calls it one of the best in Bihar. Brand recognition is the reason reviewers give most often for choosing it, ahead of any single facility. That is worth knowing, but a brand is not an accreditation, a placement record or a campus.
What the fee page shows, and what it leaves out
Each course page shows one line in lakhs of rupees: “1st Year Non Sponsored Semester”.
| Programme | Listed figure | In rupees |
|---|---|---|
| MBA | 1.785 | ₹1,78,500 |
| BBA | 0.88 | ₹88,000 |
The pages give no breakdown, no fees for later semesters and no note on exam fees, development charges, hostel or books. If the same figure applied every semester, which the page does not say, the MBA would come to about ₹7.14 lakh over four semesters and the BBA to about ₹5.28 lakh over six. That is arithmetic, not an official total.
Third-party sites quote different totals. Collegedunia puts the BBA total at ₹4.66 lakh, below the ₹5.28 lakh the simple multiplication gives. Careers360 lists an integrated BBA+MBA (54 months) at ₹8.28 lakh and describes a lower minimum mark (45%) for sponsored candidates than for non-sponsored (50%), which suggests “sponsored” is an admission category. The university’s programme list does not currently show the integrated degree, so ask whether it is open to new students.
Ask for the full fee schedule in writing, including any yearly increase. The university also links a Fee Refund Policy based on UGC guidelines under Admission & Fee; read it before the first payment.
MBA syllabus
Every semester also carries “Common Curriculum Courses”, which the page does not itemise.
| Semester | Courses listed |
|---|---|
| 1 | Excel Computation Labs, Accounting for Managers, International Business and Practice, Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Organizational Behavior, Statistics for Management |
| 2 | Concepts and Applications in Management and Governance, Applied Finance for Managers, Business Law for Managers, Management of Human Resource, Operations Management and Research, Research Methods in Business Management |
Semester 3 lists a Summer Internship and Strategic Management, and semester 4 lists a Dissertation. The remaining courses in both semesters are listed together, with no note on how many you choose or whether they form specialisations. Grouped by subject (our grouping, not the university’s), they look like this:
| Area | Courses |
|---|---|
| Marketing | Advanced Sales and Distribution Management, Product and Brand Management, Rural Marketing, Advertising Management & Sales Promotion, Marketing of Services |
| Human resources | Compensation and Reward Management, HR Analytics, Recruitment Selection and Retention, Counselling Strategies for Managers, Labour Welfare and Industrial Relations, Training and Development |
| Finance | Management of Financial Services, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, Behavioural Finance, Corporate Financial Strategy, Corporate Restructuring, Mergers and Acquisitions |
| Analytics and technology | Foundation of Business Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Visualisation, Predictive Analytics using R, Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Business, Data Management and Cyber Security, I.T. Project Management |
| Operations and projects | Project Planning Appraisal and Control, Retail Supply Chain and Logistics Management |
The programme starts with Excel and statistics before any functional subject, and it comes back to data in semester 3 (R-based predictive analytics) and semester 4 (AI in business). Finance electives are the biggest group. Ask which electives actually run for your batch; a course on the syllabus page is not a promise that it is taught every year.
BBA syllabus
Every semester also carries unlisted “Common Curriculum Courses”.
| Semester | Courses listed |
|---|---|
| 1 | Environmental Science and Sustainability, Legal Environment of Business, Economics for Business Management, Management Concepts and Practices, Principles of Financial Accounting, Executive English |
| 2 | Philosophy of Kautilya for Management Studies, Media Literacy and Critical Thinking, Business Applications of Emerging Technologies, Cost and Managerial Accounting, Marketing Management Concepts, Organizational Behaviour Practices |
| 3 | Gita for Leadership, Ethics and Well-being, E-Commerce and Contracts, Data Visualization for Business Analytics, Business Environment for Managers, Essentials of Human Resource Management, Principles of Financial Management, Quantitative Techniques for Managers |
| 4 | Banking and Financial Institutions, Fundamentals of Project Management, Corporate Tax Planning, Export Management, International Marketing, Operations Research, Research Methods for Managers |
| 5 | Summer Internship, Financial Markets and Services, Fundamentals of Training and Development, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Service Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Understanding Organization Change and Development, Business Strategy, Direct Tax – I, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship, Marketing in Digital Age |
| 6 | Dissertation, Advance Corporate Finance, Brand Management, Fundamentals of International Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Retailing, Risk Management – BSI, Understanding Industrial Relations and Labour Laws, Direct Tax – II, Fundamentals of Competitive Intelligence and Business Development, Human Values and Community Outreach, Sales and Distribution Management, Understanding Leadership and Motivation in Organization |
The first two years are broad: accounting, economics, law, marketing and organisational behaviour. Two courses draw on Indian thought, Philosophy of Kautilya for Management Studies in semester 2 and Gita for Leadership, Ethics and Well-being in semester 3. Technology shows up as Business Applications of Emerging Technologies (semester 2) and Data Visualization for Business Analytics (semester 3). The choice opens up in semesters 5 and 6, where finance, tax, marketing, HR and entrepreneurship courses are all listed, again without a note on how many you pick.
The programme list also shows BBA (Digital Marketing), BBA (Honours/Honours with Research), BBA (Digital Marketing) (Honours/Honours with Research), BBA LL.B. (Hons) and B.A. (Administration). This guide covers the standard BBA only.
Placements: official numbers against review claims
The university publishes a “List of Placed Students 2025” PDF with 229 entries across all programmes. Each entry gives a name, course, company and session. We counted the MBA and BBA rows by company and left out student names.
MBA, session 2023-2025: 53 entries across 27 companies.
| Company | Entries |
|---|---|
| Reliance Retail | 14 |
| Kotak Life Insurance | 5 |
| ITC Limited | 3 |
| Samsung Irex India LLP | 3 |
| Go Digit Insurance | 2 |
| Vodafone Idea | 2 |
| Bharti Airtel | 2 |
| RineX Technology | 2 |
| Atlytics | 2 |
Eighteen more companies appear once each: Amul, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, ESAF Small Finance Bank, Seeds FinCap, Indus Tower (Bharti Infratel), Radio Mirchi, Khair Al Rabia, Prop-On Top, eformation Technology, Academor, Megistron Media, Tax Companion Consultants, Givni Private Limited, Super DNA, LearningRoutes and Teachnook. By sector, 14 entries are retail, 12 are banks, insurers and lenders, 5 are telecom and 4 are FMCG.
BBA, session 2022-2025: 33 entries across 5 companies.
| Company | Entries |
|---|---|
| Swiggy | 17 |
| AU Small Finance Bank | 8 |
| TCS | 5 |
| British Telecom Group | 2 |
| HomeEasy Automation Pvt. Ltd. | 1 |
Three things to keep in mind when reading these counts. Entries are not students: some names appear against more than one company, so the 33 BBA entries cover about 28 names. The list is concentrated: Swiggy accounts for just over half of the BBA entries and Reliance Retail for about a quarter of the MBA entries. And the list has no salary, role, location or batch size, so you cannot work out a placement percentage from it.
What the university’s NIRF filing adds
The university’s NIRF 2025 submission reports graduating-batch outcomes, including a median salary. The figures cover all 2-year PG programmes (the MBA alongside MCA, M.Com, LL.M. and others) and all 3-year UG programmes (the BBA alongside BCA, B.Com, journalism and others), so they are not MBA-only or BBA-only. The university reported them itself.
| Year graduated | Group | Graduated in minimum time | Placed | Median salary of placed graduates | Higher studies |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021-22 | 2-year PG | 35 | 31 | ₹5.5 lakh | 4 |
| 2022-23 | 2-year PG | 59 | 51 | ₹6.5 lakh | 8 |
| 2023-24 | 2-year PG | 98 | 71 | ₹8.3 lakh | 27 |
| 2022-23 | 3-year UG | 110 | 86 | ₹6.45 lakh | 24 |
| 2023-24 | 3-year UG | 155 | 123 | ₹7.4 lakh | 32 |
In 2023-24 the placed and higher-studies numbers add up to the whole batch in both groups (71 + 27 = 98 and 123 + 32 = 155). That puts about 72% of the PG batch and 79% of the UG batch in jobs, with the rest recorded as going on to higher studies. NIRF data stops at the 2023-24 graduates, while the placed-students list covers the next batch, so do not compare the two directly.
Review claims that do not match
Reviews and aggregator pages say “100% placements” (CollegeBatch review) and quote highest packages from ₹9 lakh (Collegedunia summary) to ₹20 lakh (a Careers360 review) to ₹42 lakh (CollegeDekho summary), and average packages around ₹4.8 to ₹5.5 lakh. None of these figures appear on the university’s pages. The university’s own filing gives 72% and 79% placed and median salaries of ₹8.3 lakh and ₹7.4 lakh. A median is not a highest package, so the numbers do not contradict each other, but you should treat any “highest package” you see online as unverified until the university gives it to you in writing.
Accreditation, recognition and rankings
UGC. For an MBA or BBA, UGC recognition is what matters for the degree’s validity. The university’s Recognition & Approvals page links to the UGC listing, along with BCI and RCI listings. Check the UGC website yourself using the university’s name.
NAAC. The university’s own NIRF 2025 data submission, hosted on amity.edu, answers the question “Does your institute have a valid NAAC Accreditation?” with “NO”. Some aggregator sites, including Zollege and CollegeDekho, describe the university as NAAC “A” grade. We found no grade on the university’s own pages that we could read, so this guide does not state one. The filing reflects data submitted for the 2025 cycle and may be out of date. Ask for the current NAAC certificate or status in writing.
NIRF. Third-party sites (Careers360, AglaSem and Zollege) report Amity University Patna in the NIRF 2025 Management rank band of 101-125 and the Engineering band of 201-300. NIRF does not publish individual ranks inside a band, so this is not “rank 101”. We read these on third-party sites rather than on nirfindia.org.
The Accreditation & Ranking page on the university’s site is a set of 26 images with no text, so we could not read them. Homepage lines such as “consistently ranked no.1” do not say which ranking they mean, so we have not repeated them.
The university and its campus
Amity University Patna was set up under the Bihar Private Universities Act, 2013, and came into existence on 23 August 2017 after a gazette notification. It is sponsored by the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF), a non-profit registered under the Societies Act 1860 that is the umbrella body for Amity institutions.
The campus is at Rupaspur, Bailey Road, Patna, on leased premises that the university calls interim. Its website lists 100 Mbps Wi-Fi, computer labs, a library with digital access, CCTV coverage, AC classrooms, a conference hall, a seminar hall and a language lab with communication helpdesks.
The homepage shows 1,50,000 students, 9 universities, 150+ institutions and a “110 Acres” campus. These appear to describe the wider Amity group, not Patna, so do not read them as figures for this campus.
The university’s pages and homepage list a steady run of events: Techphilia 9.0, the Amity Film Festival 2026, a street play on World Autism Awareness Day at NIT Ghat by the Amity Institute of Clinical Psychology, the 5th Convocation Ceremony in 2025 and an MoU signing with IIT Patna. The Student Life menu links to sports facilities, NSS/NCC, health and wellness, the Anti Ragging Cell and the Student Grievance Redressal Committee. Amity Business School also publishes a newsletter, The Business Tribune, as a PDF.
Incubation and entrepreneurship
Amity University Patna has an Amity Innovation and Incubation Centre (AIIC). A document on the university’s site says it was launched in 2018 as the first private university incubation centre in Bihar, to support Bihar startups. The Patna site also links a “List of Startup Onboarded” PDF, which is the place to look for names and numbers. The AIIC document carries a Khagaul, Danapur address rather than the Rupaspur campus address, so ask where it operates and whether MBA and BBA students can use it.
Behind it sits the group-level Amity Innovation Incubator, based at Amity University Noida. Its site describes a registered not-for-profit society with an advisory body of industrialists, venture capitalists and technical specialists. It lists business planning, company formation, legal and IPR assistance, managerial support and technology support as services, and runs a mentor network, a technology commercialisation programme and a student entrepreneurship page. Its most recent listed events are from 2021 and its headline counts differ between Amity pages, so we have not quoted them. Whether Patna students can join these programmes is a question for the admission office.
In the syllabus, the BBA lists Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship in semester 5. The MBA course page lists no course with entrepreneurship in the title. The university’s NIRF 2025 filing reports 35 patents published and 8 granted in calendar year 2023.
